Communication barriers

Language barriers such as a limited vocabulary, grammatical errors, and differences in accent are challenges, especially when a company uses a language that is not the employee’s native language. Cultural differences can also pose a challenge. In addition, technological barriers such as connectivity issues, data security, and unfamiliarity with digital tools can also disrupt the process of knowledge transfer (Oluwaseyi, 2024).

Information overload

Too much information at once is one of the main challenges for knowledge workers. Personal intelligence assistants (a genre of AI) could help knowledge workers change their way of processing information by offering more effective capabilities for processing, sorting, and navigating information (Jarahhi et al., 2023).
